4 Ways Acceleration Academies Makes High School Less Scary image

If you don’t love high school, you’re not alone. In fact, a nationwide survey conducted by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence found that 75% of teenagers reported negative feelings about their high school experience. The good news? High school doesn’t have to be so scary…

At Acceleration Academies, we are dialed into the challenges facing today’s young adults. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, alone or bored when it comes to school, know that there are other options. We partner with school districts nationwide to create a high school experience that combines flexibility, support and, most importantly, a commitment to your success. Here are four ways we’ve created a flexible approach to education.

NO. 1: A TEAM DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING YOUR SUCCESS

At Acceleration Academies, you’ll be surrounded by a team dedicated to supporting every part of your journey. Content Coaches provide academic support and instruction (just like teachers), while Graduation Candidate Advocates support your social-emotional and other needs. Lastly, Career and Life Coaches ensure you’re prepared for life beyond the diploma (more on that in No. 4).

NO. 2: RELAXED VIBES + INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

No more crowded classrooms filled with desks! Acceleration Academies campuses are spacious and open with a coffee shop vibe. You’ll have plenty of space and options to work alone or collaborate with other Graduation Candidates (that’s what we call our students) and staff. We even have cafes in our academies with snacks and drinks for you to enjoy.

NO. 3: FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING

The typical US high school day starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. We know this schedule doesn’t work for everyone. At Acceleration Academies, we’re flexible around scheduling and we offer a blended model that combines online and in-person learning. There are minimum requirements for time on-site and course progress, so your personalized learning plan will outline a tailored schedule to ensure you stay on track.

NO. 4: FOCUS ON CAREER READINESS

Earning your high school diploma is a huge milestone worth celebrating. Because of it, you’ll already be positioned for success beyond graduation, but we offer even more support to make sure you graduate with a plan. With the help of a Career and Life Coach and through our career and technical education partnerships, students gain invaluable experience, skills and knowledge that give them an edge as they head into the job market.
