For many Acceleration Academies students and families, the enrollment counselors team is the very first line of support. They offer guidance, answer questions and help make what can feel like a big, uncertain decision a little clearer.
That’s exactly where Janette shines. As a lead enrollment counselor with five years of experience, she brings both deep knowledge and genuine care to every conversation, helping students and their families feel confident as they take their first steps toward a new path to graduation.
A: I was looking for a transition in my career. I came across a job listing for Acceleration Academies after resigning my sales job at Boost Mobile. I’ve been with the company for 5 years!
A: I am the team lead enrollment counselor, which means that I am here to help students and their support team navigate the enrollment process. Do you have questions about the application or any of our schools? Need to set up a meeting to talk more about enrollment? Need assistance in Spanish? Interested in attending a webinar? I am here to help with all of that!
My typical day is largely focused on outreach! You can find me answering emails, text messages, calls and helping with applications or connecting you with the right team member.
However, I am also a team lead, so I help my team and assist with trainings
A: What excites me the most about the Acceleration Academies’ mission is how well it captures what our schools do. We aim to support our students all the way to graduation through a non-traditional approach to education.
A: Seeing our students graduate! A lot of our students encounter barriers throughout their education and in their personal life, so seeing them celebrate with their loved ones overjoys me.
A: A lot of the time, as enrollment counselors, we are the first to interact with students and families. Helping talk through each student’s situation helps us address how we can support them! The application usually takes around 15-20 minutes, but having that conversation is important for every student! Especially those who may be feeling hesitant because they have other responsibilities, such as work.
A: Many things set Acceleration Academies apart! We offer students the flexibility to create their own schedule, we do not have traditional classrooms and our teachers work closely with students!
A: I remember this young lady from Clark County, who stopped going to school because she was not getting the assistance she needed and started falling behind. Not only was she falling behind, she was also being bullied.
This young lady was scared to go to any school and a big setting did not work for her. Her Spanish-speaking mother called our mainline and I explained how Acceleration Academies works.
We both then asked the student to please give it a try and upon sending her pictures of how the school looks she decided to enroll. She just graduated last summer! Our flexible schedule and the one-on-one support is what helped her graduate.
A: The best advice I can give students who are interested in joining us is don't be afraid to submit that application or take the tour! Don’t be scared to try something new and if you are scared, then do it afraid. We will help you succeed!
A: Parents, if you are unsure about our program being a good fit for your student(s), give us a call! We are here to answer all your questions or help you register for a webinar to learn more!
Submitting the application for our schools is worth it!
A: My proudest moment was when I was promoted to team lead. I enjoy helping my coworkers in whichever way I can!
A: Out of work I love arts and crafts, cooking/baking, reading, watching movies and have my hands full with 3 kids!
