- Who can enroll in the Washington Choice Transfer program at BAA?
Any Washington State high school student who would benefit from a supportive, virtual-first learning environment can apply. Eligibility criteria:

- Must be a Washington resident
- Ages 16-21. (On September 1st of the active school year, the applicant must be/ have been at least 16 but not yet 21.)
- Have not earned a high school diploma or equivalency diploma (GED)
- It is NOT required that you live in the Bethel School District. Franklin Pierce applicants must complete the Choice Transfer application and follow Virtual-First Program guidelines.
- Complete the Bethel Acceleration Academies application
- Be "released" by your current school district for the Washington Choice Transfer.
- What does “virtual-first” mean?
Most learning takes place online, but students also have access to in-person support when needed.
- How is BAA different from other virtual schools?
Unlike traditional online programs, BAA offers a highly supportive experience with dedicated staff who care about each student’s success. Students aren’t left to figure things out alone, they have teachers, coaches and advocates checking in regularly to help motivate and keep students on track.
- What kind of support do students receive?
Students are matched with a Graduation Candidate Advocate (GCA) who helps them stay on track, connect to resources and celebrate achievements. In addition, certified teachers and mentors provide academic and social-emotional support.
- Is there a cost to enroll?
No, BAA is a tuition-free program for eligible students in Washington State.
How to Apply for Enrollment
Applying is simple:
- Visit our application website to apply for enrollment.
- Request a Transfer to BAA:
- A Choice Transfer request must be submitted when a student wants to attend a school outside of the school district where the student lives.
- The Choice Transfer Request Portal (CTRP) is used to process Choice Transfer requests.
- For a Choice Transfer, the school district in which the student lives (aka resident school district) must first release the student to start the transfer process. When you have completed your transfer application, your request will be sent to the resident school district for review.
- Follow the instructions on the CTRP site to begin the transfer process.
- Meet with an Enrollment Specialist: Our team will walk you through next steps, answer your questions and help design a personalized graduation plan.
